State Shooting Ranges
The State of Alaska oversees three shooting ranges, each offering a variety of opportunities to the public. They are located in Anchorage, Fairbanks, and Juneau.
Anchorage – Rabbit Creek Shooting Park
The Hunter Information and Training (HIT) Program operates the Rabbit Creek Shooting Park in Anchorage. Rabbit Creek range provides hunters and recreational shooters with ranges for rifle, handgun, .22 rimfire, archery, and non-toxic shotgun clay target shooting.
Fairbanks – Fairbanks Indoor Shooting Range and Hunter Education Facility
The Alaska Department of Fish & Game Fairbanks Hunter Education Indoor Shooting Range opened to the public in the fall of 2000. The priority use of the facility is for hunter education and training. Our public shooting program and firearms instruction program is maintained to the extent possible. The range is the first of its kind in Alaska and is a first-class educational and recreational facility for Fairbanks and surrounding communities.
